A lazy weekend.

So, had a lovely weekend :) Me and OH went shopping yesterday and had lunch out in a nice little Italian restaurant - the pizza I had was enormous!

Today was a housework day, followed by lovely food. I had my second attempt at making bread!

First stage - the kneaded dough

Leave to rise for an hour in a covered bowl.

Knock the dough and leave to rise for a further hour on a baking tray covered with baking parchment.

Then bake for 30 mins! It was so amazing - in fact so good that I forgot to take a picture - d'oh!

And finally, some lovely daffodils that OH bought me today :)

  2. Looks good - we love making our own bread & have you tried making pizza dough? So easy & once mastered - you'll probably never want pizza out again!

  3. Hi Nic,

    Here's the pizza dough recipe:

    500g flour
    1 fairly heaped tsp salt
1 heaped tsp Dove's dried yeast
    2 tbsp olive oil
    Approx 350mls warm water
We also add 1 tsp oregano & 1 of sesame seeds, but they're not necessary.

We add the olive oil to the water & slowly mix into the dry ingredients.
Knead for 10 mins & leave to rise for at least 1 hour.

Roll the dough out with a rolling pin - there should be enough for a couple of pizza trays.

Add toppings straight away & cook in a hot oven for about 10 mins.

    Hope it works!

    Kay :)

  6. Haha, I'm always the other way around, I always mean to take pictures as I bake but forget! I've never made my own bread, I would love to try. I bet it makes the house smell yummy. I've got a bunch of daffs on the go at the moment too, they're so pretty and always make me feel a bit cheerier!
